Bruce N. Singer, a 61 year resident of Doylestown, PA died at home, on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the age of 94.

He was the beloved husband of Grace Anderson Singer for 64 years.

Born in Worcester Township, PA, he was the son of Helen Heath Carson and William G. Singer, and the brother of the late William G. Singer, Jr. and the late Jacqueline Webster.

Mr. Singer graduated from Penn State University in 1952 with a degree in Landscape Horticulture, and was a registered landscape architect, and treasurer of the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Association of Landscape Architects.

Mr. Singer served in the US Army Air Corp in WWII from 1943-1946. He worked for the US Department of the Interior and as the Assistant Director of Parks for Bucks County in which capacity he helped with the research and development of the twenty park system in Bucks County. He completed graduate work at Trenton State College and was employed by the Montgomery County I U, teaching environmental education, horticulture and job training skills.

Among many volunteer activities, he served as VP of the Delaware Valley Protective Association, served as president of the Central Bucks YMCA in its early years and was chairman of the Bucks County Girl Scout Camp Development committee, designing the layout for Camp Tohickoni. He also served on the board of the Friends of Peace Valley Nature Center, was scoutmaster for the Center Square Boy Scout troop, and enjoyed singing with the Leisure Time Singers and the Bucks County Country Gentleman, as well as the Penn State University Glee Club. He enjoyed attending CLR classed at Delaware Valley College and hiking with the Philadelphia Trail Club, serving a term as president.

Mr. Singer was an active member of the Doylestown Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder and Deacon, as church school teacher and long-time choir member. He also served as an elder at the Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his beloved wife Grace, Mr. Singer is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Nancy Elizabeth Sheriff and her husband Paul; Jacqueline Carol Linn and her husband Robert; Caroline Heath Weiner and her husband Bruce; his loving grandchildren, Julia and Rebecca Sheriff, Christina and Stephen Linn, and Marley Anne and Laura Weiner; his cherished great granddaughter, Savannah Skye; He is also survived by his siblings, John Edward Singer and Barbara Jean Grater.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bruce’s Memorial Service on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 12:00pm, at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 East Court St. Doylestown, PA 18901. His interment will be held privately.
