George, Davison McCaughey passed away on December 20th, 2017, at his home in Richboro. He was 89.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, George was raised in Hulmeville. After his marriage to Lois on June 2nd, 1956, they lived in Levittown PA, until moving to Richboro in 1964, where he lived for the past 53 years.

George was a graduate of Langhorne High School, class of 1947. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served with the Air Ship Blimp Squadron during the Korean War, from 1950 to 1954.  After serving in the U.S. Navy, he had the opportunity to work for Reedman Chevrolet as a Field Staff Auditor.  He completed 44 years of service, until his retirement in June 2004.

George was an extraordinary man who had a passion for life.  He had an infectious charm and personality and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He enjoyed the outdoors, whether to travel to a warm tropical island with his wife or taking a cruise to see the world, creating a lifetime of wonderful memories. One of his favorite hobbies, which gave him great pleasure, was playing the piano. Not able to read music, he had the gift of playing the song by just hearing it.  He also enjoyed dinning out at his favorite restaurants. George had a passion for animals of all kinds.  His beloved dog “Max” will always hold a special place in his heart.

He will be remembered as a loving, devoted husband to his late wife Lois and a loving and caring father and grandfather to his two children, Scott and Sandra and granddaughter, Stephanie.

He is survived by his two children, son Scott McCaughey of Richboro and daughter, Sandra Mooney, son-in-law James Mooney and granddaughter Stephanie Mooney of Levittown, family and friends.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Lois McCaughey, parents, William and Rebecca McCaughey of Hulmeville, PA, brother, Bill McCaughey of Bristol, PA and sister Florence Connell (McCaughey) of Bristol PA, and brother-in-law’s, Samuel Brangan of Pineville PA, Elmer Roberts of Tuckerton, NJ, Gordon Roberts of Croydon, PA, and Gerald Roberts of Philadelphia, PA.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on December, 26th, 2017, from 11:15am until the start of his funeral service, 1:15pm, at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
