John A. Taylor Jr, “Jack” of Richboro passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family on December 22, 2017 at his home. He was 85.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of Dolores Reed Taylor for 67 years. He was the devoted son of the late John A. Sr. and Margaret Mulgrew Taylor and dearest father of the late Sheri Marie Ryan and brother of the late Margaret Getty and Lorraine Reece.
John grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Mastbaum High School. After high school he attended trade school and became a Master Electrician, and began his professional career that lasted over 40 years working in the construction industry and ultimately retiring after a successful career with the Delaware River Port Authority in 1996.
John was a resident of Richboro for 22 years and a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Parish Richboro. He enjoyed reading, watching old movies, sports and going to the gym. John’s real passion and love was teaching his grandchildren all about history and especially the Presidents of the United States. He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted family and the friends he made thru his lifetime.
In addition to his beloved wife Dolores, John is survived by his 2 daughters and 1 son; Jacqui Taylor and her fiancé Gary Porter, Kimberly A. Ryan and her husband Timothy; his son John A. Taylor, III; his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
John’s family will receive condolences on Thursday December 28, 2017 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Church 654 Hatboro Rd. Richboro. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
