Sophie A. Zubyk, better known as “Sally” or “Babci” to many, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Neshaminy Manor. She was 95.
Sally was the beloved wife of the late Michael Zubyk and was preceded in death by her son, Michael Thomas, and daughter in law, Nancy Zubyk.
Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Angela Mis Lubas.
Sally had been a long time resident of Bucks County and previously resided in Chalfont and Philadelphia. She worked for 15 years for W.T. Grant and later another 15 years for Rite Aid.
To say Sally was a selfless individual would be an understatement as she dedicated her entire life to caring for others. She loved to travel, spend time with her adoring family and was also a well known resident of Neshaminy Manor where she could always be counted on for selling raffle tickets each week. She will be dearly missed by all the countless people whose lives she touched. Her loving family would like to thank Neshaminy Manor for all their loving care over the years.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Linda Hamarlow (Michael), Michael Zubyk, James Zubyk (Jennifer), and Sandi McEwen. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Brian, Tyler, Benjamin, Jordyn, and Jake.
In addition to her husband, her son and her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Josephine Shields, Jean Curtis, Helen Lubas, and Joseph Lubas.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Sally’s life on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 5:00 PM until the start of her Funeral Service at 7:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
