Lois Elaine Guderley Remer of Southampton died peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. She was 88 years old.

Born in Chicago, IL, on June 13, 1929, daughter of the late George H. Washington Guderley and Alma Matthies Guderley, Lois was the beloved wife of Norman A. Remer for the past 65 years.

Lois graduated from Kelvyn Park High School and Wright Junior College in Chicago. She attended the University of Illinois for several terms where she met the love of her life, Norman.

Lois and Norman married in February of 1952. They lived in Chicago, Wilmington, Colonial Heights, Virginia, and Pasadena, Texas. In 1966 they settled in Southampton where they have lived for the past 51 years.

A member of the North and Southampton Reformed Church, Lois participated in the Mary Rebecca Circle. She was membership chair of the Friends of the Southampton Free Library for many years. Lois worked for a few years in seasonal positions at Burpee, where she made a number of friendships which have lasted a lifetime. She had a great sense of humor, was a fantastic cook, and loved to read (especially mysteries), travel, and spend time with family and friends.

Lois had a tremendous talent and could sew just about anything. She also enjoyed gardening, sailing, and listening to classical and big band music.

Lois will be remembered for her gracious smile and loving ways and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband Norman, Lois is survived by her son James N. Remer and daughter-in-law Donna, her daughter Janice M. Scandlin and son-in-law James, one grandson Benjamin R. Remer, her sister-in-law Lois Guderley, a niece, Susan, and nephew, George. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, George W. Guderley, and her grandson, Matthew J. Remer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 10:30 am until noon. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00. Interment will be private.
