Doris Jessica Mary Hammond King

Doris Jessica Mary Hammond King has shed her mortal coil.  Books, nature, music and family were the keys to her soul.   Her friends and family celebrate her extraordinary life.

Leaving London’s haut couture world of women’s fashion working for English designer and mentor Temple Brooks, “Didge”, as coined by her beloved brother Patrick, fought the evils of WWII as a WAF driver in the Royal Air Force of Great Britain.  During this time she met the love of her life, Mark Charles King a sergeant in the United States Army Air Force who pre-deceased her in 1996.

This union produced two children, Patricia Mary and Valerie Anne, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service and interment was held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown to reunite Doris and Mark.  We thank the many wonderful, nurses and aids of the Pine Run Community and Hospice Care Givers of Doylestown Hospital who helped our mother during the most challenging years of her life.
