Edward J. Glanzmann, of Warrington, died peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. He was 88.
He was the beloved husband of 65 years to the late Patricia A. (nee Lynch) Glanzmann. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Richard V. and Madeline (nee Eitscher) Glanzmann and father of the late Patricia A. Ekenstam (Edward). He was predeceased by 9 siblings.
Ed was a resident of Warrington, for the past 52 years. He was a proud veteran of the U S Army, serving during the Korean War, in Germany as a member of the Military Police. Ed worked as an auto mechanic for most of his life. He was a devoted family man who cared for his family. He was loved by many and will be cherished forever.
Ed is survived by his devoted children; the Rev. Edward J. Glanzmann, OSB, Joan McDonald and her husband Michael, Kathleen A. Ward and her husband Michael, Robert R. Glanzmann and his wife Maureen. He is the loving grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 2. He is also survived by his brother Raymond Glanzmann and his wife Ada.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday evening November 30, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901 and to his Funeral Mass Friday December 1, 10:30 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church 856 Euclid Ave. Warrington, PA 18976. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Parish Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Monastery of Holy Cross, c/o Rev. Edward J. Glanzmann, OSB, 3111 S. Aberdeen St. Chicago, IL 60608.
