Thomas C. Hansen of New Britain passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Doylestown Hospital.  He was 79.

Thomas was the devoted husband of Patricia Farrell Hansen who passed away in 2012.  The two had shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late Oscar and Claire Malcolm Hansen.

Tom graduated from Northeast High School and went on to attend Temple University.  He later began his career first with National Molasses on the waterfront in Philadelphia and then Brinker’s Fuel for 25 years.  He was also joint owner of Federal Alarms and Air Conditioning.  During retirement he  was employed with the security department of Chestnut Hill College.

To say Tom was a “jack of all trades” would be an understatement.  He took great pride in caring for his home, built his own pond on the property and was also a self taught computer guru, often being the one his family turned to for computer questions and advice.

Most of all Tom was a loving and devoted family man and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Surviving are his children, Deborah Smith and her husband, Daniel, Barbara Rigg and her husband, Michael, Karen Davis and her husband, Jack, and Thomas Hansen and his wife, Laura.  He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his brother, James Hansen.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Claire Shaffer.

Services and interment will be held privately.
