Sidney I. Simon, of West Orange, NJ died on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at St. Barnabas Hospital, Livingston. He was 81.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Veda Stein Simon.

Sidney was a resident of West Orange, NJ.

He was a graduate of Newark’s West Side High School; he received a Bachelors Degree from Rutgers University, a DDS from Georgetown Dental School and a LLB from Rutgers Law School. He served in the United States Army.  He worked for the Department of Banking for the State of New Jersey and as a tax assessor for the City of Newark.

He is survived by his 2 brothers; Melvin E. Simon and Mark W. Simon and his wife Karen, 2 nieces; Carla Simon and Marnie Simon and her husband Jeffrey Porter and 2 great nieces; Vivienne and Elliana.

Services and Interment were private.
