Barbara “Bobbi” Hicklin, of Chalfont, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at her home with her family by her side. She was 75.

She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Hicklin Sr.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Catherine Arkatin Morasky and the late Nicholas Giuffre.

Barbara grew up in Cheltenham and graduated from St. Basil Academy. After graduation, she took a position at the Johnsville Naval Air Development Center and it was there where she met her future husband, William.  They married on November 23, 1963 and settled in Willow Grove.  Then in the early 1970’s they moved to Doylestown and then to Plumsteadville, where they raised their family.

Barbara worked as a secretary in the CCD office at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for over 15 years. She then worked for Nationwide Insurance and then with ACE Hardware in Plumsteadville for many years before retiring in 2012.  She enjoyed the outdoors and was quite the fisherwoman and in her day could out catch most men.  However, it was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren at the Pocono cabin that meant the most to her.

She was very active in the church community. She was a driving force in organizing a weekly schedule for Adoration at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish. During her adult life, she was professed into the Third Order Carmelites. It is connected to the Carmelite Order by means of the promise which he or she makes to follow a very ancient custom and make private promises of chastity and obedience according to one's state in life in order to be consecrated more closely to God.  Barbara volunteered at St. Mary’s Manor in Lansdale where she made rosaries with the residents. She also volunteered at the Shrine of Czestochowa.

She is survived by her three children; William Jr. and Suzanne Hicklin of Chalfont, James and Michele Hicklin of Muncy, PA, Kenneth and Michele "Mickey" Hicklin of Coopersburg.  She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, William, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Thomas and Catherine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Scared Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927.  Her interment will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Doylestown Hospital Hospice, 875 Easton Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
