Monroe Kimmel passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at The Birches of Newtown after a long battle with Alzheimers. Monroe was 84 years of age.

Born in Gordon, PA, he was the son of the late Doris and Robert Kimmel and attended Ashland High School. On graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and became an aero-medical technician. After serving, he attended the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and obtained his degree in pharmacy. He went on to work for Johnson and Johnson and then purchased The Drug Store in Chalfont, which he operated for 15 years.

He loved golfing, tennis, Eagles football games with his son, a good cigar, and civil war history; but most of all, barbecues and family gatherings.

Monroe was preceded in death by his precious grandson, Alex; and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Terry Daidone Kimmel, his children, Dr. Robert Kimmel (Cheryl Freund Kimmel), Roseann Sellen (John Sellen); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Casey (Rachel), Dr. Robert Kimmel, Jr. (Mikal-Lyn), Christopher, Elyse; and his great grandchildren, Hayden and Vera Rose.

Friends and relatives are invited to Monroe’s visitation on Tuesday, August 15 from 10:00 until the start of his funeral service, 11:30am at the Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd., (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Internment will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
