Balazs “Bo” László Fazekas of Penns Park PA went peacefully to eternal sleep on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at the Briarleaf Nursing & Convalescent Home in Doylestown. He was 81.

Balazs was the beloved husband of 47 years to Rose Marie A.  Fazekas (nee Char), who preceded him in death.

Born in Budapest Hungary just before the dawn of WWII, he spent much of the war years with his older brother Károly at his aunt’s farm in Transylvania, while his mother and older sister Sári stayed in the capitol city. He escaped Communist Hungary just after the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, and lived in a refugee camp until arrangements could  be made for his emmigration to the United States.

He worked in Camden and Philadelphia, then finally in Warminster Bucks County with PennWalt (now Alfa Laval), where he retired as a machinist in 2000 after 32 years of service.

Balazs was the devoted father of Joseph C. Fazekas of Philadelphia and Erica A. Stewart of Perkasie. He is also survived by his sister Sári in Budapest Hungary and his 2 cherished grandchildren, Parker Rose Stewart and Avery Joy Stewart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 9:30am until his Funeral Service 10:30am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, 438 Cedar Road, Fox Chase, PA 19111.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation/Philadelphia and Delaware Valley, 1500 Walnut St., Suite 301, Phila., PA 19102.
