Robert A. Swope of Warminster passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, August 3, 2017, in his home surrounded by family at the age of 86. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dolores (McAndress) and his six sons, Bob Jr. (Peggy Joy), Jim (Kathy), Steve (Patty), Ken, John (Janet), and Kevin.  He will also be missed by his six grandchildren, Diana, Jim, Kristina, Kelly, Jaclyn and Jenna. He leaves behind his brother John to join his brothers Charlie and Joe, and sister Helen.

A proud graduate of Roman Catholic High School (’48), Bob was a member of the 1947 Philadelphia City Championship football team against Frankford (40-12). Following high school, he enlisted in the Navy where he spent his time as a radio operator.  He later graduated from LaSalle University.

A devout catholic, he served the church as a lector, collection officer and, for a time, president of the Home and School Association of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Southampton.  His dedication went beyond his family, serving as Cubmaster, Warminster Baseball Association coach and Solon, Ohio’s Little League Commissioner.

Professionally, he was a sales engineer, most recently for Denton & Anderson, sharing his knowledge, professionalism, and wit throughout the Eastern United States.

Throughout his life he was well known for his outgoing nature, positive energy, wisdom, resourcefulness, and humor.  

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 10:00am until his funeral mass, 11:00am, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave, Southampton, PA 18966.  Interment will be private.
