Conrad C. “Connie” Scheuer, Jr.  of Huntingdon Valley died peacefully on August 1, 2017. 

He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia M. and loving father of Susan P. and Linda E. Scheuer, and Janet L. Harbaugh (Edward), devoted grandfather of; Joseph, Daniel, and Brian, brother of Jack Scheuer. (Jean), he is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and clients. 

Connie graduated from Frankford High School in June of 1946 and enlisted in the United States Army in September of 1946.  He served in the Army occupation of Japan and played baseball and basketball on division teams. 

He attended Temple University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and then worked as a full time substitute teacher at Lincoln High School before becoming acting Vice Principal for a year.  He also joined the Philadelphia Department of Recreation and started the first successful summer basketball tournament at “B” and Champlost.  In 1956 he became a New York Life Insurance Agent and spent 60 years with the company, receiving numerous awards for his dedication.  He was an avid tennis player and was a member of the Roosevelt Racquet Club for 40 years winning many tournaments. 

Connie’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954, and on Wednesday at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Rd. Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 from 9:00am until his Funeral Liturgy at 10:30AM. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Langhorne, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 12265 Townsend Rd. Suite 400 Philadelphia, PA 19154. Connie’s family would like to thank Holy Redeemer’s support at home for the loving and thoughtful care they gave to our Dad.
