Claire B. McCarthy of Richboro passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2017 with her loving family by her side at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.  She was 90. 

Claire was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. “John” McCarthy with whom she had shared 53 years of marriage. 

Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary McDonough Bender. 

Claire was a former resident of New Jersey before moving to Richboro in 1976. She was a longtime communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland and in her leisure enjoyed bowling. Her primary focus in her life was her family. Claire was excellent role model to her children and a primary influence in the lives of her grand children. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and by all who came to know her.

Claire is survived by her children, Kevin P. McCarthy and his wife, Nancy, Karen K. MacDonald and her husband, Thomas, Craig F. McCarthy, Coleen M. Hiltz and her husband, Dennis, Justin McCarthy, and Jeremiah McCarthy.  Claire is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, July 31^st from 6:00-9:00pm and on Tuesday, August 1^st from 8:30-9:15am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.  Her interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
