Allen M. Cook, 90, of Doylestown and formerly of Mt. Laurel, NJ died peacefully on Tuesday April 8, 2014, at Pine Run Lakeview with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Josephine M. Freimiller Cook for 66 years.

Born in Queen City, Texas, he was the son of the late Elbert and Alice E. Mayfield Cook and brother of the late Marie Smith and Austin and Earl Cook.

Allen was a resident of Mt. Laurel, NJ for 38 years before relocating to Doylestown 14 years ago. He was a graduate of Sunset High School in Dallas, TX and went on to attend the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, under the U.S. Navy ROTC program. He was awarded his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical engineering before serving his country proudly with the Navy during both World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Allen was employed for 41 years with General Electric in the sales and lighting department in Philadelphia and East Orange, NJ. He was an avid golfer and will be remembered as a devoted Philadelphia sports fan and for his love of vacationing at his home in Ocean City, NJ.

Most recently a resident of Pine Run Lakeview, his family wishes to thank the staff who provided such loving care and compassion to Allen. He will be dearly missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his daughters, Leslie Weber and her husband, Edward, of Doylestown and Mari-Anne “Mari” Entwistle and her husband, Brian, of Dandridge, TN; and his two adoring granddaughters, Lindsay Paoli (William) and Layne Weber. Allen was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first great-grandchild, due in August.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday April 12, 2014 from 10:00 AM until his funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Ave., Warrington.
