Scott W. Mills of Holland passed away suddenly July 2, 2017 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, NJ at the age of 33
Born in Meadowbrook, Scott was the beloved son of Wayne R. Mills and Barbara Schlosser Mills. In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by his sister Jill Bowers and her husband Troy Bowers of West Grove, PA.
Scott (aka “Mills”) Graduated from Council Rock North in 2001. He attended Penn State where he graduated with a Bachelor degree in Secondary Education with minors in Political Science and History. One may also say he had majored in Basketball and had a slight obsession with the game, with Duke being his favorite college team!
Scott began his career substituting at Pennsbury School District, then Spent the rest of his career at Council Rock School District, ending up at Holland Middle School. When he wasn’t in the classroom, Scott could be found in the Hallways calling each student by a made up, usually comical, nickname. The students loved calling him “Mills, Millsy or Coach.” He was a beloved coach at CR South and Holland Middle for Basketball, Field Hockey and Softball. He always made time to help any of his students or athletes that need him.
Outside of school, he had a long list of students that he loved to tutor. He spent most of his summers as a Camp Counselor at the YMCA and refereed basketball. He played basketball with a men’s group on Sunday mornings for many years
Scott was an amazing friend, son, brother, colleague, role model and overall guy who will be greatly missed by anybody who has ever had the opportunity to know him! He will be missed greatly and “Mills” will never be forgotten!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings Sunday, July 9th from 5:00-8:00pm and on Monday July 10th from 9:30am until his Funeral Service 11:00am in the Joseph A.
