James J. Troy III of Stuart, FL and formerly of Philadelphia, Southampton, Jamison and Rockledge, died peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2017 in the comfort of his daughter’s home.  He was 84.

Born in Philadelphia, Jim was the beloved husband of the late Dolores P. Troy, son of the late James J. Jr. and Catharine P. Troy, and father of the late Michael P. Troy.

Jim was born, raised, and started his family in Philadelphia.  He was a servant of the public who proudly donned the Philadelphia Police Uniform for 20 years until his retirement in 1975.  Jim was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing the game and also watching the professionals play it, but he cherished the times spent with his beloved family.  He cherished his family and close friends, and was willing to always offer a helping hand or share words of advice and encouragement. 

Jim is survived by his loving and devoted children: Denise Betz, James J. Troy IV and his wife Peggy, and Robert V. Troy and his wife Nantadchapon, his dear 6 grandchildren: Erica, Jamie, Anthony, Matthew, Katie, and James, his 6 great grandchildren: Savannah, Blake, Jack, Ben, Mika, and Michael.  He is also survived by his longtime companion Barbara Van Swearingen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, July 14, 2017 10:30am until his Funeral Service 11:30am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, Pa 18954. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.
