Charles S. Havelka of Holland passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Philadelphia. He was 78.
Born and raised in Port Chester, NY, he moved to Holland with his family in 1977. Charles was a proud US Marine Corps Veteran. He earned both a bachelor and masters degree in finance from Pace University, New York, NY. Charles was the former Chief Financial Officer for the Johnson Companies, Newtown, PA.
Charles will be greatly missed by his loving family; his wife of 54+ years, Carol Havelka; his children, Patrick Havelka, Corey Havelka and his wife, Kathy Havelka. He was the proudest grandfather of Connor and Sarah Havelka, all of Holland. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Piper and her husband Ronald; his brother Stephen and his wife Paula, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Charles was devoted to his family, his faith and every New York sports team, especially the NY Yankees.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 12:30pm Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Newtown Reformed Church, 206 Buck Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment to follow at 2:30pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA followed by a reception at Rose Bank Winery, 258 Durham Rd (Rt 413), Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to the Newtown Reformed Church.
