Christopher R. Braun of Upper Makefield passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown. He was 86 years young. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Mr. Braun was a resident of Upper Makefield for the past 59 years.

He was the beloved husband of the love of his life, the late Miriam “Mickey” Kaminski Braun, son of the late Christopher and Anna Fowler Braun, brother and brother-in-law of the of the late Blanche Daley (late William) and Betty Fleming (late Joseph), Uncle of the late Joanne Bloom.

He attended Yardley High School and postponed his education to support his family. Later, he returned to night school and received his diploma from Bristol High School. Christopher was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the reserves for more than 20 years. He was very proud of his Naval Air Reserve Squadron receiving the Noel Davis trophy. For 40 years he passionately worked at Bell Telephone Company and Verizon as an installer and repair technician.

Christopher’s family and home always came first and foremost. A few short months after he and Miriam married, they lost their Yardley home in the flood of 1955. Shortly after the flood, they rebuilt their lives and a new home on Jericho Mountain.

Chris loved people and everyone that met him had an instant connection.  He was an avid follower of current events and the stock market, and loved talking politics with family and friends. He enjoyed working in his yard, around his home and working on his antique cars. He will be deeply missed by his family and especially his two grandchildren, who will always cherish their weekly Wednesday dinners and their Saturday evenings spent together with their “Pop-Pop”. Chris’s passion for others, service and selflessness will eternally inspire his grandchildren to strive to serve others and spread kindness to all they encounter.

His two daughters survive Chris; Nancy A. Heyrich and her husband George of Upper Makefield and Deborah Hall of Bristol. His two loving grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew Heyrich also survive Chris. A niece Terry Knorr and a great nephew and niece, Tre Bloom and Shauna Huck, also survive him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Chris’s visitation on Sat. July 8, 2017  from 10:00 until the start of his Memorial Service,11:00am at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Rd. New Hope, PA 18938. His interment will be private.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay St. Newtown, PA 18940
