Henry Christian Bickel passed on June 17, 2017. He was former resident of Holland before moving to Philadelphia.

He was the beloved husband of late Kathleen (nee Feeney) Bickel and the dearest Father and Father-in-law of Henry(Eileen), Laura, Kathleen (Charles), Mary Ellen (Joseph) and Theresa.  He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren: Henry (Jamie), Gregory (Kristin), Charles, Alison (James), Kathleen (Brian), Rachel and the late Daniel, and 7 dear Great-Grandchildren, Emily, Camryn, Caine, Liam, Connor, Kennedy, and Kieryn.

Henry was a Korean War Veteran and served in the US Army from 1948, honorably discharged in 1955. He retired from PGW as the Superintendent of Transportation in 1988 after 32 years and then took the position of Automotive Service Center Supervisor of Navy Resale Activity at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed boxing and loved music. He was a skilled mechanic and fixer of just about anything around the house.  After raising 5 children, he attended Penn State University.  He will be remembered as an incredibly loving, dedicated and supportive husband and father. We will miss his quick wit, engaging personality and friendship to everyone he met.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Rd. Phila., PA 19116 followed by his Entombment at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Christopher Church at the above address.
