James P Seibert Sr. born in Fishtown, father of eight, died on June 11, 2017. He moved to Levittown in 1955 with the mother of his children Anna Mae Griffin. Born in 1920 and living in the Great Depression, Jim knew some hard times but his fortitude never wavered. A decorated WWII veteran with the 3rd Division, Corporal Seibert was honored numerous times for his valor.
He is survived by his 8 children, James P. Seibert Jr. (Maureen), Edward Seibert Sr. (Teresa), Mazie McGrath, Maureen Golden (Tom), Mary Seibert, Bobby Seibert (Dee), Dolly McCormick (Jerry), and Richard Seibert (Misty). Surrounded by his loving family, Jim Sr. left us to be with his Mom and Dad, Catherine and Edward, his seven brothers and sisters, his wife Anna Mae, and his grandson Brian.
We loved having our Dad play the organ, or lead us in song on the way home from family outings. He will be sadly missed for he was the very last of an incredibly strong breed of men who picked themselves up by the bootstraps and carried on. Jim was the proud Grand pop of thirty five, and the Great Grand pop of forty.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday from 9:00am until 10:45am at the Olde Church of St. Andrew, 135 Sycamore St., Newtown, PA., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment will be private at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown,
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Brian Seibert Memorial Fund,1418 Wrightstown Rd., Newtown, PA 18940 or the 1777 Valley Forge Purple Heart Fund, 2176 Strasburg Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320.
