Ruth C. Benson of Holland died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Hospice in Meadowbrook. She was 91.

Ruth was the beloved wife of 65 years to Charles A. Benson.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Balbina Witalis Gomolka.

Ruth lived in Philadelphia before moving to Holland, PA in 1969. She worked as a hairdresser, and later, as an accountant with Burpee Seed Company. She loved to read, cook, bake, sew, garden, dance, and make things beautiful.  Her presence, spirit, talents, kindness and laugher will be sorely missed. 

In addition to her husband Charles, Ruth is survived by her daughter Christine Otto and her sister, Esther McCommit. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Jacqueline and Chase.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, June 6^th from 9:00am until her Funeral Mass 10:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Ruth’s interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
