Josephine Jewel Turner (nee String) was reunited with our Lord on April 26, 2017, with her family by her side. She was proud to have celebrated her 24th birthday for over six decades. Josephine graduated from West Catholic High School and Rosemont College and received her Master’s degree from Penn State.
Jo held an eternal torch for her husband, the love of her life, William P. Turner, who predeceased her.
Jo was the proud mother of her three children, Bill, Kathy and Jeanne, and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. ‘Mom Mom’ was adored and constantly teased by her five grandchildren, Brianne, Benton, Kaitlin, Megan and Erin. She was so proud of each of them. She also found new energy through her two great grandsons, Cade and Cash. She held a special love, bond and friendship with her daughter in law, Debbie Turner Schultz.
Jo was blessed to have a devoted brother and friend, Ralph Pasceri, with whom she spent countless hours of laughing, story-telling and love.
‘Mrs. Turner’ passionately taught science at Archbishop Ryan High School for 30 years. She made science and ecology lessons part of her daily life, at home and in school. She also enjoyed dabbling in crafts, refinishing furniture, sewing and gardening. She had a love of fast cars, jewelry and peas.
She was actively involved in her parish of St. Vincent de Paul and had many friends there, who were a beautiful addition to her lifelong friendships and her special circle from Ryan.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her rich life on Sunday, April 30th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd) Richboro, PA 18954 from 6:00-8:00PM and on Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954 from 9:30AM until her Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Please wear celebratory clothes to honor Josephine’s joy of sharing in eternal life. Her interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Operation Smile 3641 Faculty Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23453. This charity was a passion for Jo.
