Margaret Mary Schwartzberg of Holland passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 94.
Margaret Mary was the beloved wife of the late Harold L. Schwartzberg.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Margaret Ryan McGlynn and was preceded in death by her siblings, late William McGlynn, The Hon. Joseph L. McGlynn Jr., and Thomas McGlynn.
An accomplished artist, Margaret Mary won a full scholarship to attend Moore Institute of Art and studied Illustration and Advertising Design. After graduation she worked as an advertising illustrator, a US Navy illustrator with high security clearance during WWII and later as a merchandising display artist. Already a professional artist, Margaret Mary later studied at the American School at Fontainebleau, France. She illustrated a children's coloring book about the recently beatified Blessed Miriam Teresa.
Margaret Mary married Hal in 1956 but lost him entirely too soon in 1975. After Hal's death she returned to work and served as an administrator at Archbishop Wood High school for Girls until her retirement.
Margaret Mary loved visiting with her large family and she did so often. Last year she fulfilled a lifelong dream to visit Israel with some of her children and grandchildren. She profoundly influenced her family and others with quiet strength and great humility.
Margaret Mary is survived by her children, H. Lee Schwartzberg Jr. Esq. and his wife, Susan, Barbara B. Daly and her husband, Michael, Klair T. Miller and her husband, William, Andrew J. Schwartzberg and his partner, Beth Baker, Stephanie M. Schwartzberg Esq., and Maria D. Stumpf and her husband, William; her cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Rachel, Justin, Michael, Jr., Alexander K., Margaret Ryan, Joseph, J. Maximilian, Rebecca K., William J. Jr., Margaret Sarah, Jared, Elizabeth and J. Ryan. She also leaves behind her brothers, Edwin McGlynn and Stephen McGlynn and her sister A. Klair McGlynn Filarsky.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday April 17th from 7:00-8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Tuesday, April 18th at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
