Joseph R. Ripp of Ivyland died peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at his home with his beloved family by his side. He was 73.

Born in Dalj, Yugoslavia, Joseph was the beloved husband of Dora Rosa Straub Ripp for the past 50 years. He was the son of the late Mathias and Juliana Feith Ripp.

Joseph immigrated to this country at the young age of 5; he attended St. Henry’s Catholic School and received his diploma from Cardinal Dougherty High School.  Immediately after high school Joseph joined the U S Army, serving in Alaska for several years as a Weapons Technician and a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne before his honorable discharge in 1968. Joseph retired just a few years ago after over 30 years as a bricklayer with Pohle Masonry Contractors of Ivyland. Joseph was always a family man, working around his home and playing baseball with his grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling, reading, hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his firm handshake and being true to his word.

In addition to his beloved wife Dora, Joseph is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle Dalton and her partner Mark Coldren, his 3 brothers Rev. Anthony Ripp, MSC, Matt Ripp, Frank and his wife Rose Ripp, and his nephew Frank Jr and family and his niece Suzanne and family. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Siegfried and Meta Pohle, his nephew Uwe Pohle and family, and the family of his late nephew Reiner Pohle. He is the proud grandfather of Allison and Ryan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday April 18, 2017 from 2:00pm until his Funeral Service 3:30pm followed by Military Honors at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro.
