Richard G. “Fuzzy” Ferns of Walled Lake, MI died peacefully on April 8, 2017 at the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  He was 67.

He was the loving husband of Leslie Marten Morys.

Born October 31, 1949 in Hamtramck, Michigan he was one of seven sons to the late William and Dorothy (nee: Duncan) Ferns.

Fuzzy was a gregarious and adventurous man who lived life to the fullest.  He was a proud veteran of the US Army and a dedicated and devoted grandfather.  His expressive and outgoing personality will always be remembered by those who knew him.

He is survived by his children Richard P. Ferns and his wife Kristen M, Sharlene A. Lehti, Jeffrey S. Morys and his wife Kimberly D. and Matthew Duke his brothers William Ferns, David Ferns and Donald Ferns.  He is also survived by his five loving grandchildren Erin, Patrick, Brynn, Logan and Tyler.

He was predeceased by three brothers; John, Robert and Edward Ferns.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 14, 2017, from 9:00 AM until his memorial service 11:00 AM at the Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 N. Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake (3 Blks. S. of Maple Rd.).  His interment with Military Honors will take place at 1:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan.
