Mary A. McGuire (nee Schodowski) of Morrisville, PA and formerly of Hainesport, NJ died peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2014 after a 4 year battle with multiple myeloma. She was 69.
Born in Staten Island, NY, Mary was the devoted daughter of Dominic J. and Helen E. Blackford Schodowski.
Mary was an accomplished fine artist, doll maker and puppeteer. She had been a member of the Levittown Artist Association and held many awards for her landscapes and portraitures.
She was also a naturalist, leading nature walks for Churchville Nature Center, and Five Mile Woods Nature Preserve, among others. She knew the wildflowers and the trees by their Latin names and loved animals, especially horses. Her favorite day would be driving to the park in her 1974 Nova with the music of David Allen Coe playing from the tape deck.
Mary will be greatly missed and always loved as daughter, sister, and friend.
In addition to her loving parents, Mary is survived by her 4 brothers; William (Sharon), John (Lorie), Michael (Courtney) and Larry Schodowski (Melissa) and her 2 sisters; Diane T. Maurizio (James), and Victoria Schodowski.
Mary’s Family will receive friends from 10:30am until her Memorial Service 11:00am on Friday May 9th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private.
