Richard J. Hermann Jr., of Lansdale, PA passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 27, 2017, at his home with his wife by his side. He was 74.
He was the beloved husband of 23 years to Margaret “Maggie” Davis Hermann.
Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Richard J. Sr., and Marian Halley Hermann, and brother of the late Marilyn R. Hermann.
Richard grew up in Wilkinsburg and graduated from Wilkinsburg High School. After college, he began a long career in the Metals Industry. He worked for many companies and his career ultimately took him to Lansdale, where he settled in the mid-1980s. For many years, Rich worked for Admiral Metals in Telford, PA. Upon his retirement in 2011, he was their General Manager of Sales.
Rich may have retired from the metals industry, however, he did not stop working. He enjoyed getting out and being around people, so he kept himself busy working as a Valet Driver at Thompson Lexus in Doylestown, PA and with Hodge Tool in Lancaster, PA. Rich’s life was not all about work. He also enjoyed boating, golfing with his friends, and vacationing in St. John, but his real passion was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughters; Lori Breen and her husband Joe of Cheswick, PA, and Beth Ann Gambrell and Bill Wisniewski of Merritt Island, FL, his two stepsons; Gary Kindle and his wife Mary of Doylestown, PA and Brad Kindle of Lansdale, PA. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service 11:30 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. His interment will be held at a later date in the Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Braddock Hills, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County, 2875 York Road, Jamison, PA 18929.
