Phyllis Fox of Horsham, PA, died peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Jefferson Health-Abington Hospice at Warminster. She was 75.
She was the beloved wife of John J. Fox, Jr. for 54 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marcella Matteson Waters and mother of the late John (Jackie) J. Fox, III.
A longtime resident of Hatboro Horsham, Phyllis was a 1959 graduate of St. Huberts Catholic High School in Philadelphia, PA. She was employed as a bookkeeper at the Food Distribution Inc., in Philadelphia before becoming a medical secretary for Abington Medical Specialists and Mainline G.I.
While she enjoyed her work, her family was always her priority. Summers were spent camping at the Long Beach RV Resort and Campground. Phyllis loved all types of puzzles and passed along her love of books to her children. As a breast cancer survivor, Phyllis had a tremendous outlook on life and had an appreciation for her role in caring for her husband and family.
In addition to her husband, John, Phyllis is survived by her children and their spouses; Patty and Clay Lepley, Ellie and Mike Suder and Scott and Dottie Fox; along with her brother Joe Waters; her sister, Marcy Szwedowski and her aunt, and namesake, Mildred Abrams; her loving grandchildren and their spouses, Clay and Gray Lepley, Tom Lepley, Melissa and Fabio Nussberger, Katie Suder, Cindy Fox and Hailey Fox; and her 3 special great grandchildren Toccoa Lepley, Rory Lepley, and Louis Nussberger. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 10:00am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will be private.
