Lois J. Kern, of Southampton, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Southampton Estates. She was 85.
She was the beloved wife of 65 years to William L. Kern Jr.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and and Hazel (White) Weizsacker, mother of the late Nancy L. Andersen and sister of the late Norma Weizsacker.
Lois graduated from Frankford High School in 1948. She moved to Holland, PA in 1961. She was a member at North and Southampton Reformed Church since 1961. She was a member of Old York Road Country Club for 45 years. Lois loved to bowl, golf and play bridge. She loved to cook and entertain. Lois enjoyed spending time at her vacation home at Lake Wallenpaupack and enjoyed spending time in Florida in the winter months. She also enjoyed the Greenbrier in West Virginia. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother always putting everyone else’s well being above her own. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her six grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons Donald A. Kern and his wife Cyndi of New Hope PA, David W. Kern and his wife Cindy of Tafton PA, her son in law Joseph Andersen and his wife Debbie of Alton NH, her brother-in-law Richard Kern and his wife Maryann of Souderton PA, her nephews; Richard Kern and his wife Diane, James Kern and his wife Beth, her niece Donna McElhattan and her husband Rick, and her 8 great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her six grandchildren William L. Kern II, Kristin L. Schaller and her husband Kevin, Eric Andersen, Brian Anderson and his wife Amanda, Aimee Wentzell
and her husband Jeff, Danylle Freeman and her husband James and her 3 great-grandchildren; Jeffrey, Jaxson and James.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 11th from 10:00AM until her Memorial Service 11:00 AM at the North & Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Churchville, PA 18966. Her interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to North & Southampton Reformed Church at the above address or Southampton Estates, 238 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966.
