William F. Pierce of Dagsboro, DE formerly of Richboro passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 22, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was 71.

He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Maryann Washabaugh.

William grew up in Philadelphia and after graduating from Frankford High School he joined the US Navy. After serving his country he returned home to Philadelphia and began working. He met his beloved Maryann in 1966 and married in 1973.  They lived in Philadelphia for a few years before moving to Richboro in 1980 where they raised their children and remained until moving to Delaware in 2012.

Family and friends were very important to him and he loved to entertain and enjoyed all aspects of it.  He loved acquiring gadgets, reading, cooking, grilling and baking and spending time surrounded by his family and friends.  He loved spending time on his boat and the companionship that made it fun. 

William was more than just an entertainer.  He was kind and a humorous husband, father and grandfather who’s greatest pleasure was the time he spent with family and friends.  His kind ways, generous spirit and love will always be remembered and appreciated by those who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son William Pierce and Heather, his daughter Kelly Fox and 3 grandchildren, Courtney Fox, Landon and Cameron Pierce. Also his brother Charles Stepanski his wife Elaine and a niece, two nephews and their children.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd. Richboro, PA 18954.   His Interment with Military Honors will be at 1:00 PM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111.
