Richard K. Muehlmann
Richard K. Muehlmann, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania and formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 2, 2017 at the age of 78. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Richard was the son of the late Frank and Margaret Muehlmann. He graduated from Simon Gratz High School before attending Curtis Institute Of Music, graduating in 1964. Richard played double bass with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra for 40 years, retiring in 2005. Richard was also the Assistant Director of the Mississippi Valley Packard Car Club and a member of the Classic Car Club of America and the Cadillac LaSalle Club. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed restoring antique cars, gardening, and taking trips to Ocean City, New Jersey. Several of his automobiles won awards.
In addition to his former wife, Ann, he is survived by his brother, Robert Muehlmann, and two sisters, Marilyn Stevens and Roslyn Reiss; his daughters, Margaret, Mary and Erica; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, Joseph and Alicia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to an environmentally conscious charity in Richard’s name. Correspondence to Richard’s family may be sent to 1914 Maple Ave Hatfield, Pennsylvania 19440.
