Rita F. Zitter Fitzpatrick, of Langhorne, PA died peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Monday, February 13, 2017. She was 75.
She was the beloved wife of 55 years to Edwin F. Fitzpatrick Jr. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Rita (McDonald) Zitter.
Rita was a member of the United States Navy and the Army Reserve for many years. She was a retiree of Bell Telephone/Verizon and for a period of time worked for the City of Philadelphia under the Frank Rizzo Administration. Rita was an active member of both the Bell Telephone Pioneers and the Feasterville Business Persons Association. After retirement from Bell/Verizon she also worked as a financial advisor for UBS Financial Services. She loved to entertain and enjoyed traveling with family and close friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she enhanced with her friendship and love.
In addition to her husband Edwin, Rita is survived by her nephew Greg and her nieces: Kelly, Holly, and Jacqueline.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Wednesday, February, 22, 2017 at Assumption B.V.M. Church 1900 Meadowbrook Rd. Feasterville, PA 19053 from 10:30 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:30AM. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 or to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
