Leonard W. Pietrzak of Churchville, PA died on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He was 74.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. Cole Pietrzak for 53 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Estelle Pietrzak and brother of the late Margaret Klus.
Mr. Pietrzak was a resident of Churchville for the past 40 years. He graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia and received his bachelor degree in accounting from St. Joseph University, Class of 1961. He was proud to have the distinction of being a “Golden Hawk”. Leonard was a proud veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He started out working for Arthur Young & Company and before retiring in 2001, he spent his entire professional career employed as a Certified Public Accountant and a financial executive. He was a lifelong Eagles fan and season ticket holder and went to the Super Bowl in 1981. He excelled in track, basketball and baseball during his athlete years and was a Mummer for the Harrowgate String Band.
In his leisure time, he looked forward to spending time on LBI along with his wife and could always be found doing a crossword puzzle. Being a family- oriented man for all of his lifetime, he loved making memories by spending quality time with his children and grandchildren who called him “Pop-Pop”. He will be sadly missed as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his four children; Stephen L. Pietrzak of Collegeville, Diana L. Pietrzak of Warminster, Jeffrey S. Pietrzak of Harleysville and Kristen M. DeStephanis and her husband, Nicholas, of Chalfont. He is also survived by his 5 loving grandchildren; Eric, Bryan, Nicole, Emma and Elle.
