John Patrick Timothy Murphy, of Langhorne and formerly of Newtown died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, February 5, 2017at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 86.
Born in Philadelphia, PA John was the beloved husband of Patricia K. Kurz Murphy and the late Diane D. Raup Murphy, the son of the late John and Mary McLaughlin Murphy and brother to the late Joseph (Trudy), Helen Webster (John), Catherine McCullough (Joseph), William (Marie), and James Murphy.
John was a Proud Veteran of the Navy who honorably served our country during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Pierce College in Philadelphia, and worked for 49 years until retiring in 2000 as a Senior Manager with Strawbridge and Clothier.
In addition to his wife Patricia, John is survived by his loving children and their spouses: Susan Wilson and Tom, John Murphy and Karen, Nancy Gerstle and Bruce, John McEwing and Karen, and Stewart McEwing and Mayette. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, his siblings Peggy Casoni (Peter), Edward, Richard (Betty), Eugene (Carol), and his sister-in-law Patricia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 10:00am until his Funeral Service 11:30am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
