Salvador Bernard Spano Jr., of Churchville, died peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Abington Hospice in Abington Memorial Hospital. He was 82.
Bernard was the beloved husband of 56 years to Shirley Leonard Spano.
Born in Columbus, GA, he was the son of the late Salvador B. Sr., and Rosalia Grider Spano.
He was a proud veteran of the Navy and after his discharge, Bernard remained in the Naval Reserves where he retired as a Commander. He graduated in 1957 with a Bachelors’ Degree in Management from Georgia Tech.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, Bernard is survived by his devoted daughters: Elysa Lenczyk, Kathleen Spano, and Elizabeth Babb. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, a brother Jon Spano, and a sister Emily Spano- Bentley.
Bernard’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 10:30am until his Funeral Mass 11:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd. Richboro, PA 18954. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
