John E. Scheer of Richboro died peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Hospice in Meadowbrook. He was 69.

John was the beloved husband to Sally Schoenfuss. Born in Germany, he was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Mayer Scheer and the brother of the late Ingeborg Scheer.

A Drexel University graduate, John majored in Metallurgical Engineering and was a longtime employee of ABB Inc. in Warminster, PA. He was an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for 38 years. While he loved vacationing at the Jersey shore, gardening and spending time outdoors, his love for his family was paramount.

In addition to his wife, Sally, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Philip Travis and Karen and Christopher Turek. He will be missed by his loving granddaughter, Violet. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Carol Norris and many cousins and nieces. John’s family would like to thank both Holy Redeemer Healthcare and Holy Redeemer Hospice for their care and support.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 10:00am until the start of his Funeral Service, 11:00am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 877 Street Rd. (at Knowles Ave.) Southampton, PA 18966. Interment will follow at Lawnview Cemetery in Rockledge, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19103, or to a charity of ones choice.
