Teresa Mary Plewes Carney of Langhorne, PA died peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Chandler Hall with friends and family by her side.  She was 92.

Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Carney Sr. and mother of the late Thomas P. Carney Jr. and Colette Carney Skeehan.

Born in London, Ontario Canada she was the daughter of the late Russell Vernon and Gladys Plewes.

Teresa was a graduate of St. Bonaventure Elementary School, Little Flower High School Philadelphia Pa and earned an Associate Degree from Rider College Lawrenceville, N.J.  Teresa was a Parishioner of the Church of St. Andrew’s Newtown Pa. for 56 years, an esteemed member of the Washington’s Crossing Foundation.

During World War II Teresa worked for Kaiser Aircraft, Bristol PA in the engineering department helping the war effort.

After the War Teresa and her late husband founded Thomas P. Carney, Inc. which is currently operated by their children.  While she assisted her husband in the creation and operation of the construction firm she raised and educated eight children.

She enjoyed world travel with her husband, volunteer work, gardening, her pets and spending summers at her home in Margate, N.J. home.  Teresa will be greatly missed, but always loved by everyone whose lives she has touched.

Teresa is survived by her loving sons: John, Robert, his wife Monica, Joseph, his wife Denise, Michael, his wife Kim Cook, William, his wife Kim Brown and her loving daughter Ann Marie Carney.  She is also survived by her brother Gerald Plewes of Philadelphia, 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Viewing on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM in the Olde Church of St. Andrew, 135 South Sycamore St. Newtown, PA 18940.  Interment will immediately follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Teresa Carney’s Family would like to express their appreciation to the entire Staff of Chandler Hall for the loving and professional care they provided her. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Washington Crossing Foundation 6934 North Radcliffe St. Bristol, PA 19007.
