Audrey C. Fox, of Lansdale, died peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2016, surrounded by her family at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia. She was 86.
Born in Detroit, MI, Audrey was the beloved wife of the late Leonard A. Fox, daughter of the late Joseph and Rosella Bronder Breier.
Audrey was a graduate of Little Flower High School for Girls, class of 1948. Audrey and the love of her life, Len, moved to Holland in 1963, where she served as school librarian for St. Andrew Parish in Newtown and initiated the school library for St. Bede the Venerable Parish in Holland. She organized church and charity bazaars for many years. In 1984 she and her husband moved to Langhorne for 2 years before retiring to Harrison, Maine. In 2008 they moved to Lansdale to be closer to family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid quilter whose works of art are loved and cherished by those who received one. Her talents were known from Maine to Bucks County and were shared with family and friends. She was loved by many.
Audrey is survived by her devoted children and their spouses Joseph L. (Jeannette) Fox, Dianne (Michael) Mullin, Leonard A. Fox, Thomas R. (Colleen) Fox, and her dear sister Joyce Devlin. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Kristin (Lew) Goettner, Ann (Chris) Bottcher, Kathleen (Brandon) Hall; Kathryn (Dane) Martin, Matt Mullin, Mary Kate Mullin, and Peggy Mullin; and Nicole (Tim Ritchie) Fox and Joe Fox. She was the proud great grandmother of eight great-grandchildren, Katie, Tommy and Erin Goettner; Ben, Sam, and Max Bottcher; and William and Brigid Hall.
Audrey’s family will receive condolences on Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain and on Saturday at the Olde Church of St. Andrew 130 S. Sycamore St. Newtown from 8:45 AM until 9:45 AM. Funeral Mass will commence at 10:00am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Boys Town 14100 Crawford St. Boys Town, NE 68010 or perform a random act of kindness for someone less fortunate.
