Gerald A. “Gerry” Watto, of Lansdale, died on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at home with his family by his side. He was 64.

He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Phyllis A. Pizzo Watto.

Born in Tamaqua, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Helen Kashlak Watto.

Gerry grew up in Hometown, PA a small town outside Tamaqua, where he attended the Tamaqua Area High School, was a three sport athlete and the Senior Class President.  He continued on to Penn State where he studied Labor Relations and after graduating in December of 1973 took a job with Oscar Mayer which brought him to Bucks County. In 1986 Gerry and his family moved to Lansdale where they raised their family and were parishioners of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church.

Gerry was a modern day renaissance man.  He was athletic and able to play many sports, had a keen eye and skilled hands that could tackle any home construction project and he loved to be in the kitchen.  As long as Gerry had his family by his side, it didn’t matter if he was making coffee, wine or scrapple he was having fun.  His great sense of humor, willingness to take on any project, and love of family will always be remembered and appreciated.

In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his four children, Andrew P. Watto and his wife Manon of Philadelphia, Matthew F. Watto and his wife Jennifer of San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth C. Proto and her husband Marc of Charleston, SC, and Emily M. Watto of Philadelphia, his mother in law Philomena Pizzo of Philadelphia and his brother Dennis Watto and his wife Andrea of Honey Brook.  He is also survived by his 6 dear grandchildren; Charlie, Jameson, Sawyer, Parker, Luke, Olivia and soon to be blessed with a new granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Thursday, December 22nd from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, 18901 and on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church 1325 Upper State Rd. North Wales, 19454  from 10:00AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00am.  His interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
