James L. Vollrath, a vibrant young man with a passion for life, peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He was 26.

Born in Doylestown, he was the beloved son of William A. and Emilie A. Altomare Vollrath.

Jim was a life long resident of Bucks County. He was a star athlete at Council Rock High School South, having played on the football team and was an all state wrestler having won numerous tournaments and awards. He graduated in 2009 and went on to Penn State University and graduated in 2014 having won four straight National and Big Ten Team Championships. In five years had close to 100 wins.  He set many records like winning nine straight matches and becoming one of only two people to defeat Alex Dieringer of Oklahoma State at the Southern Scuffle.

Jim was a young man with many talents. His skills in carpentry like building tree forts, putting things together, and wood working amazed many. His athletic talents were to be admired, he loved the outdoors and created several Ninja Warrior courses that stumped many.

After graduating from Penn State, with his degree in Kinesiology and applying his technical skills he went to work for Moore Energy, as a supervisor of Solar Panel Installation.

The life of every party, he was loved by many and cherished by his family, he will be sadly missed.

In addition to his loving parents, James is survived by his sisters and brothers; Jeanine, Billy, Rob, and Chrissy, along with the love of his life, Taryn Marino.

James’ family will receive condolences on Wednesday evening December 21 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday morning from 8:00 am until his Funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Bede the Venerable Church 1071 Holland Rd. Holland. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery Richboro.
