Dorothy B. Jones of Warminster, formerly of Doylestown, died peacefully of Friday October 31, 2014 at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Herbert “Herbie” Jones and daughter of the late Horace and Mae Atkinson Bethel.

Dorothy was a life long resident of Bucks County, having been born on the family farm in Rushland. She was a graduate of Hatboro High School and a long time resident of Doylestown Borough.

Dorothy worked as a secretary for the former Waller Motors in Jenkintown, before taking a position with the Bucks County Sheriffs Department, becoming one of the first women to become a Deputy Sheriff. She retired from that position many years ago.

Dorothy has recently been a resident of Ann’s Choice in Warminster, where she so appreciated the many friends she befriended. She will be sadly missed by her devoted sister Edna whom she had dinner with every night.

Dorothy is survived by her dear sister Edna B. Graham, and her most supportive cousins; Edward and Ellen Atkinson and Joanne and Philip Waldron and their families.

Dorothy’s family will receive condolences on Saturday November 8, from 10:30 am until her Memorial Service 11:00am in the Chapel of Ann’s Choice 30000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster. Interment will be held privately.
