Thomas Francis Slattery III 80, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 19. Tom was the husband of Wilhelmina Streicher Slattery.

Born in Philadelphia and Raised in Bala Cynwyd, he was the son of the late Thomas F. II and Mary Blake Slattery and father to the late Elisa Hayden.

Tom attended Saint Mathias Grammar School, Saint Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia and received his BA from Villanova University. He taught English at Bishop Neumann High School and then worked for over 30 years at IBM in education and marketing. A talented educator and avid Irish culture enthusiast, Tom was a frequent contributor to the Irish Edition and An Scathan. He was a founding member of CCC Celt Association, where he edited and produced the Mid-Atlantic Celtic Directory for over 10 years. A lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, he conducted tours of Ireland, taught Irish history, developed curriculum for the Gael Scoil held at New Jersey's Notre Dame High School, and frequented Irish cultural festivals, where he told Irish stories and folk tales.

In addition to his wife Wilhelmina, Tom is survived by daughters Maureen Slattery, Christine Rubino (Jason), Suzanne Slattery (Alexander Jackson), Kathleen Slattery (Curtis Laux), Laura Rivera (Carlos); his son Thomas Francis Slattery IV (Lisa); son-in-law Matthew Hayden and 10 grandchildren.

Tom’s family will receive friends on Saturday, December 3rd from 1:00pm until a sharing of remembrances at 2:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the CCC Celt Association/Bernard W. Croke Memorial Scholarship at the Bucks County Community College Foundation, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940 or at www.bucks.edu/foundation.
