Joseph J. Yerkes of Chalfont passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at home with his loving family by his side.  He was 67. 

He was the beloved husband of the late Donna Sein Yerkes. 

Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late John W. and Margaret M. Humble Yerkes. 

Joe was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and went on to serve his country proudly with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  His military service was by far one of the personal achievements for which he was most proud.  He led a long career as an automotive mechanic having worked for many years for the former Sacchetta Brothers Exxon in Hatboro where he had the opportunity to work for his long-time friend, Jim Sacchetta. 

Above all else, Joe’s most crowning achievement was being a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle to his beloved family.  He will be dearly missed. 

Joe is survived by his children, Kathleen Wirth and Joseph Yerkes and his wife, Nicole; his grandchildren, Lola and Jude Yerkes; his siblings, John Yerkes and his wife, Elaine, Rita Bucolo and her husband, Vincent, and Mary Erthal and her husband, Jack.  He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Yerkes.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 9:30AM until his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914.  His interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
