James M. Fenerty, 89 of Ambler, a former long time resident of the Northeast section of Philadelphia and a 45 year parishioner of St. Jerome’s Parish died peacefully on Saturday November 19, 2016 at the Artman Home in Ambler surrounded by his wife of 69 years Mary F. Martin Fenerty and their 4 children. He was the father-in-law of the late Anthony Vernacchio.

Bud as he was known attended North Catholic High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. After his discharge from the Navy, he went to work for Philco-Ford working his way from a factory worker to the being the Business Agent for the IUEW, which he held for over 30 years.

Bud was a family man his wife and children always came first. He was a faithful member of the Men of Malvern, an avid fan of the Phillies, Germantown Academy Basketball and Lafayette College Basketball. Bud had a Irish Tenor voice and was know throughout the Philadelphia for his singing talents for over 40 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife Mary F. Martin Fenerty, his 4 children and spouses; James M. Fenerty and his wife Mary T., Margaret M. Vernacchio, Maureen A. Campbell and Gerald J. Fenerty and his wife Lisa. Jim was the proud grandfather of 11 and the great grandfather of 13.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday November 23, 2016 from 10:30am until his Funeral Mass 12:30 pm at St. Jerome’s Church 8100 Colfax St. Philadelphia. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Artman Home Benevolent Fund, 250 N. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
