Edward “Wayne” Transue, 71, of Chalfont, PA, passed away at home surrounded by family on November 18th after a long fought battle with heart disease.
He was the beloved husband of Jeanine Fay Transue. Wayne and Jean just celebrated 50 years of marriage in September.
Wayne was born in Abington on November 9, 1945. He graduated from Central Bucks High School and was a proud member of the class of 1963.
Wayne met Jean at the Robin Hood restaurant in Southampton. They continued to work side by side and owned Charlottes Restaurant in Doylestown and The Oaks Restaurant in Pipersville for many years. After retiring from the restaurant business, he drove a school bus for the Central Bucks School District treating the kids on his bus as his own.
Wayne was the consummate jokester and nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren making them smile. His sense of humor and friendly ways will always be remembered and cherished by those who loved him.
In addition to his loving wife, Wayne is survived by his children Greg Transue and his wife Christine of Plumsteadville, Corinne Sikora and her husband Matt, of Doylestown, Stacey Wilson and her husband Brett, of Pipersville, Megan Thorne and her husband Steve of Doylestown, and Michelle Simmons and her husband Jamie of Doylestown. He was an amazing Grandpop to Evan, Elaine, Max, Frankie, Ella, Claire, Jeremy, and Chloe. He will also be missed by his traveling and lifetime best friends, Dr. John and Margaret Mertz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Transue and Helen (Miller) Patzer his stepmother Peg Transue; his brother Howard, and his nephews Tommy and Hank Transue.
Wayne's family would also like to thank their nurse angels on Earth, Jody and Teresa, who became part of the family and helped care for him in his final days.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Wayne’s Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, 18901, where his family will receive friends following the service. His interment will be held privately.
