Anita S. Shea, of Chalfont, PA died on Monday, November 14, 2016, surrounded by her family.  She was 84.

She was the beloved wife of 31years to late James R. Shea who died in 1989.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Anna Schulz Stanton, grandmother of the late Michael, sister of the late Ruth and the late Robert.

Anita lived in Maple Glen for over 40 years where she raised her family.  She worked as a secretary for St. Alphonsus Church for over 25 years.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  For the last nine years, Anita moved with her daughter in Chalfont to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her seven children; Anita-Marie Shea of Chalfont, Donna Cushing and her husband Michael, of Chalfont, Susan Rinaldi and her husband Richard, of Skippack, James Shea and his wife Daniela, of North Wales, Christine Wassel and her husband Joseph, of North Wales, Thomas Shea  and his wife Patricia, of North Wales, and Terrence Shea and his wife Laura, of Lansdale, her four brothers Richard Stanton of Florida, Donald Stanton and his wife Maryanne, of North Wales, Joseph Stanton and his wife Ceil, of Philadelphia, Thomas Stanton of Ardsley, and her sister Justine Plefka and her husband Fred, of Horsham.  She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren John, Kate, Shea, Bryn, Chase, Brady, Flynn, Jacquelyn, Brittany, Anna, Cara, Colin, Jack, Julia, Brian, Megan, Jimmy and Melania. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, November 18, 2016, from 9:30 to 10:45AM and her Funeral Mass will celebrated at 11:00AM at St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen, 19002.  Her interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd. Philadelphia, PA 19104.
