Joseph A. Cossolini, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at his home. He was 63 years old.
Born in Hoboken, NJ, he was the son of the late John B. and Mary McGorty Cossolini.
Joe was a longtime New Britain resident and a 1976 graduate of Ramapo University with a degree in Music Composition. His love of music was evident throughout his long career as a master piano rebuilder and technician. He was particularly proud of a feature on Discovery Channel’s “How It’s Made”, which demonstrated his work on pianos and included one of his most valued music compositions. During his retirement, he continued to enjoy composing music along with other projects.
With his talent and creative spirit, Joe could pick up almost any instrument and produce wonderful music. He often crafted instruments and tools using his exceptional woodworking abilities. He also enjoyed sailing, traveling, photography, and playing in a local bluegrass band. He was an avid runner and had a knack for being able to fix most anything. He particularly enjoyed restoring antiquities.
Joe will be remembered as a loving father to his two daughters, Mary and Emily Cossolini, who were the joy of his life. He was there to support them in everything they did. He enjoyed the sunshine while visiting Emily in Disney World and had recently taken a trip to Ireland with Mary to visit his relatives.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Debra Cossolini, Robert and Rachel Cossolini; his sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Joe Cavaluzzi, as well as several loved nieces, nephews and cousins. He leaves behind his longtime friend, and mother of Mary and Emily, Terry Sikora. He will be missed greatly by his close friend Nancy Cullinan and several childhood friends with whom he still shared a close relationship.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather and greet Joe’s family on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd) New Britain, PA 18901from 3:00pm until a Time of Remembrance at 4:00pm. Interment will take place privately at a later date.
