John J. McNichol our dearest husband, father, and grandfather was welcomed into heaven Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his Ivyland home surrounded by his loving family.

In addition to his beloved wife Linda (Heavener) McNichol of 43 years, John is survived by his children, Bryan John and Sean Patrick McNichol, his granddaugher Regan and siblings Stephen (Irene), Claire and Pat McNichol, as well as several nephews, nieces and their children.

Born in Philadelphia, he was son of the late Stephen and Sarah (Reardon) McNichol and the brother of the late Anne O’Brien.

John was a resident of Philadelphia prior to moving to Ivyland in 1974. He worked many years in Materials Management retiring from Crown, Cork, and Seal in Philadelphia in 2003. He was a US Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. John also served as a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Richboro.

Knowing John was to know first and foremost his warm smile, and welcoming demeanor- a true family man who adored his family, neighborhood and friends. John was happiest amidst a house full of visitors enjoying a meal, or watching a Flyers game, of which he was a huge supporter. John continued his support of the Flyers long after being a charter season ticket holder at the Spectrum, often calling family while cheering and laughing loudly into the phone, or watching the games with his granddaughter a pastime he adored above all else. These are the memories of John that will be cherished by all for years to come.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 9:30am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am on Tuesday, November 15th in the St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954. John’s interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
